Android 12 Vs iOS 14

Believe it or not as most of you know

Android 12 has just came out in 

a developer beta so this is a beta of a beta and i kind of wanted to do a speed comparison against the phone that's kind of in the same category which is the i-phone 12.

It has a little bit of a better chip-set 

than the pixel 5 on android 12 but i wanted to see the smoothness 

factor and just kind of see how both of 

these things compare so this one again is running a beta of a beta i'll probably do another video of this when the public beta comes out and then when the official version comes out but let's go and see how both of these compare and a quick little speed test between android 12 and ios 14.

Now hopefully i have already cleared out all the apps in the background and as you can see i have not for the pixel 5 so let's go and clear these out now let's go and start loading up some basic apps let's do their designated app stores three two one and you can see the pixel 5 was actually pretty faster i'm not going to lie that was really really fast scrolling through you can kind of see kind of the same thing there's not really a crazy amount difference between them hopping out of here let's do phone calls three two one and about the same on both not a big difference 

let's go and i guess start loading up 

these third party apps on both 

let's go ahead and do something like you 

can do temple run two three two one 

of course we have a little bit of a 

pop-up here and of course we have a 

little bit of a pop-up here so i'm going 

to go ahead and install this and i guess 

we'll come back into it 

so temper on two again three two one 

and you can see the i-phone 12 is still 

faster and it seemed to be a little bit 

less glitch again this is the beta of 

aveda 

so keep that in mind but the i-phone 12 

surely was faster here 

the pixel 5 a bit behind for sure let's 

get into some game-play and see if 

there's any glitch i'm sure the 

game-play is going to be roughly around 

the same 

i just want to see if one is glitch 

than the other one and i don't really 

get that vibe they both kind of give me 

the same impression here so let's hop 

out of this one 

let's go into fruit ninja three two one 

and hopefully we don't get any pop-ups 

or anything like that 

and you can still see the i-phone 12 

seems to be a little bit faster for sure 

and we do get a pop-up here but they 

kind of got into their designated neck 

screens 

about the same time so not really like a 

ginormous difference there 

let's do snake versus blocks three two 

one 

and the pixel 5 actually was faster here 

on android 12.

I was 14 a little bit 

behind 

getting into the same game-play as usual 

they look about the same not really a 

ginormous difference 

and you can see i don't know how it's 

stuck there that's the first time i have 

ever seen that that's actually super 

surprising i don't know if that's a 

glitch or whatever 

let's go and do stack three two one 

and almost identically the same they 

were all like neck and neck it was like 

so surprising to me 

hopping out of this one let's go ahead 

and do three 

two one 

and ios 14 definitely was overall faster 

there android 12 was a little bit behind 

let's go ahead and do something like 

cross over road which i don't think i have 

here 

but i will check in my app library right 

here 

and i do not have it so that really 

pretty much covers up a majority of the 

apps that i wanted to test 

i do want to go back right here and you 

can see i guess you know the performance 

is going to be roughly about the same 

i'm actually more surprised about the 

pixel 5 on android 12 the fact that i 

was actually able to keep those 

the fact that it was this stable was 

actually pretty surprising to me i 

wasn't expecting this thing 

to be as stable as it was now one thing 

that i did notice about android 12 that 

i saw in the release notes and from all 

the leaks that i made coming out is that 

android 12 is going to be taking out 

a few things that you know ios 14 has 

already had 

and i think ios 14 does it very well but 

that's basically 

you know the security you know assets of 

a software 

as we know ios 14 emphasizing security 

you know we've 

just recently got those you know 

facebook ads not tracking and all that 

stuff 

but on top of that our webcam you know 

our microphones if they're ever being 

used we get those indicators up there 

android 12 is set to also bring those 

type of features as well and i think 

that's a really awesome thing and a very 

strong feature to add 

right now in this specific beta we don't 

really have that capability 

and as you can see android version 

that's funny enough there's no like 

little 

you know thing yet it's still like this 

but that's a pretty cool thing i think 

having that security aspect 

whether it was copied over or whether 

whatever the fact that we have that 

capability eventually on our pixels 

and on really in any android phone is 

going to be seriously awesome in my 

opinion 

now does that automatically mean that 

android 12 is far better or far worse 

than ios 14 

not at all we kind of saw that even for 

a beta of this size 

it's actually doing a pretty decent job 

it's already pretty stable it already 

has a lot going for it 

and i think that's some really cool 

things about this device and any pixel 

device that can get android 12 

that ios 14 you know a lot of phones are 

still supported with the software too 

also have so i think these features are 

going to be fairly close i still like 

ios 

but android 12 is said to be more of 

like a security 

and that kind of aspect you know change 

but if you've seen those little images 

that we saw before the screenshots 

we were seeing some really cool 

improvements on this software as well so 

i guess we'll see what happens but that 

really pretty much covers this little 

comparison i wanted to do again 

at an end-all be-all but just a quick 

one i wanted to do between the two
